San Miguel Brewery, Inc. Darong Plant has been cited as Labor Law Compliant company by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The citation was concurred on May 3, 2016 by DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz at the 1995 Pavilion of SMB Plant in Darong, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
The recognition is the first in the entire province of Davao del Sur and it is normally given to companies complying to DOLE’s requirements and labor standards.
The unveiling of the Labor Law Compliance Marker at SMB Plant was also held on May 3 by Secretary Baldoz, DOLE XI Regional Director Joffrey Suyao, SMB Plant Manager Wilfredo R. Camaclang, SMB National Human Resource and Business Affairs and Communications Head Enrico Reyes and Sta. Cruz Mayor Joel Ray Lopez, among others.
Other offices of SMB which also qualified for recognition and thus entitled to the marker are its region offices in Ulas and Tagum which belongs to Metro Davao Sales Operations and Provincial Davao Sales Operations, respectively. To date, SMB has a total of 8 establishments nationwide which qualified for the recognition markers.
