Cacao IPM Field Day held

The 16-week Farmers Field School on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on Cacao has culminated on October 10, 2014 on October 14, 2014 at Luwago, Tagabuli, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Thirty one (31) farmer-cooperators had completed the course as facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture Office of Sta. Cruz, the Department of Agriculture, Provincial Agriculture Office and the Philippine Coconut Authority.

According to Councilor Ronald Cruda, Chairperson on Agriculture Committee, IPM will be one of the opportunities provided by the government to the farmers and its up for the farmers to beat this opportunity.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a program of the national government that intends to promote agricultural productivity through natural farming methods. It discougares the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. (Julius R. Paner)
